Arlington, VA – September 3, 2019 – Sehlke Consulting, LLC., one of the fastest growing companies in America, announced today that it has been awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Contract by the AFWERX Program to develop Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Solutions partnering with both UiPath and Deloitte. This contract will support work to automate the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Process at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC). This is truly a ground-breaking opportunity for Sehlke, as its Robotic Operating Center of Excellence (ROCoE) and AFIMSC provide an automated RPA solution for a process that is highly labor intensive and involves numerous repetitive steps. Key success factors for this initiative include:
- Increased throughput for the AFIMSC FOIA process to more effectively handle heavy case loads
- Enhanced customer service and responsiveness for FOIA request recipients
- Increased FOIA service fee collections
Under AFWERX, Sehlke’s ROCoE will also be enabled to explore the potential for integration of RPA with other leading technologies such as advanced scanning, artificial intelligence, chat bots, computer vision, data analytics and other advanced skills supporting specific Air Force or DoD mission requirements. This aspect of our work aligns closely with key goals of the SBIR Program to stimulate innovation in the private sector and engage small businesses to support federal research and development needs.
AFRL and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research process in an attempt to speed up the experience, broaden the pool of potential applicants and decrease bureaucratic overhead. Beginning in SBIR 18.2, and now in 19.1, the Air Force has begun offering ‘Special’ SBIR topics that are faster, leaner and open to a broader range of innovations.
