Sehlke Consulting is supporting the U. S. Marine Corps Deputy Commandant for Information (DCI), Chief Information Office (CIO) Section – Information Technology Command, Control, Communications and Computers (IC4) Division. Sehlke’s s efforts directly contribute to Information Technology Risk Analysis and Support. Our Subject Matter Experts bring accounting, internal controls assessment, financial management, FIAR, and IPA auditing skillsets. The team consists of 9 personnel and supports tasks for the below workstreams:
Manager’s Internal Control Program (MICP)
- Verify that business functions are adhering to the Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), Internal Control Over Financial Systems (ICOFS), and Internal Controls over Nonfinancial Operations (ICONO) standards.
- Identify and assess risks that may adversely affect the organization’s mission or operation.
- Verify that internal control objectives are based on the organization’s risk assessments and MIC Plan.
- Ensure Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) are developed, monitored, and completed to address control deficiencies within the organization.
- Evaluate audit readiness by verifying that Key Supporting Documentation (KSD) that an external auditor may request can be provided on time.
Subsequently, the Sehlke Team is planning to test for the second iteration of the MICP and generate the first complete Statement of Assurance (SOA) for the IC4 Division since the USMC began utilizing the Manager’s Internal Control Response and Remediation (MICRR) Tool in 2020.
Internal Use Software (IUS)
- Draft the end-to-end Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) and Software In Development (SID) process flowcharts, process narratives, and Risk Control Matrix (RCM) to analyze control gaps and valuation strategy.
- Address Notice of Findings & Recommendations (NFRs) and implement effective CAPs. Perform Internal Review to ensure Milestones address NFR condition.
- Update IUS Inventory Catalog Template for accurate data capture to facilitate the IUS valuation strategy.
- Reconcile DPAS data entry per IUS catalog data to the repository currently being developed.
In addition, Sehlke continues to work with the Robotic Operating Center of Excellence (ROCoE) to identify opportunities to uncover anomalies, provide root cause analysis, evaluate metadata, and leverage BOTs to achieve measurable fiscal progress and business process improvement at IC4.
