Sehlke Consulting’s precision-inspired performance providing innovative best-value solutions to the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) resulted in our recent prime contract re-compete awards. Sehlke will continue supporting the M83 Budget Office and Naval Medical Forces Pacific (NMFP) Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) and Financial Management efforts. Sehlke also assists the M42 Expeditionary Medical Logistics (EML) Program Office. Through multiple BUMED Task Orders, Sehlke Consulting provides financial management and logistical operations subject matter expertise in the form of CIVPERS budget formulation, budget execution, accounting, audit readiness, and expeditionary medical item management. Our teams leverage automation tools from our Robotic Operating Center of Excellence (ROCoE) to provide our clients with innovative and resource-saving solutions. Sehlke identified and outlined manual, rule-based, and time-consuming processes and employed Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions to maximize internal efficiencies enabling the team to apply resources to more impactful tasks and achieve the mission. As a result, the team identified roughly $385M of Unliquidated Obligations (ULOs) for FY14-20 that could be corrected to inform future spend plans and budgeting. Sehlke also developed a strategic closeout plan that promoted audit compliance and sustainability.
At the M42 EML Program Office, Sehlke Consulting provides operational logistics service, including equipment lifecycle management, policy and procedure compliance management, and Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) Real Property oversight. Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) leveraged their biomedical engineering experience to thoroughly support EML, which immediately impacted decision-making during new medical device technology acquisition.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Sehlke is honored to deliver consistent support to mission objectives during uncertain and rapidly changing environments. Our team pivoted to introduce automated, electronic components to the Funding Authorization Document (FAD) business process during initial COVID-19 constraints and continually seeks improvement opportunities that achieve client objectives. Of note, BUMED leadership is now enabled to electronically sign packages anytime and anywhere to provide mission-essential funding to critical operations. Additionally, our business process improvements within Budget Execution Reporting returned 88-manhours to M83 Budget Execution Analysts for repurposing towards mission-critical tasks. To date, our staff is responsible for creating all FAD packages related to COVID-19, maintaining the 131% up-tempo of operations at unprecedented volumes and durations during the pandemic. Furthermore, we support BUMED’s Civilian Personnel (CIVPERS) budget analyst, managing the resourcing requirements for over $1.1B and 12,000 FTEs.
