Since September of 2019, Sehlke Consulting has supported the Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC), whose mission is “… to recruit, train, sustain, and deploy scalable, expeditionary forces worldwide to accomplish special operations missions assigned by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). To accomplish that, we equip and train Marines to succeed in austere conditions against a wide range of adversaries. Marine Raiders execute complex, distributed operations in uncertain environments, achieving silent success and strategic impact.” With MARSOC’s critical global operational Mission, resource management is paramount. Sehlke Consulting directly supports the MARSOC Assistant Chief of Staff, Comptroller with internal controls and Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) efforts.
Ongoing efforts include supporting MARSOC Comptroller by monitoring audit portals (both USMC / USSOCOM) for Provided by Client (PBC) requests, sample notifications, and follow-up questions. We assist in coordinating the PBC requests, audit samples, and follow-up questions with applicable Subject Matter Experts (SME). Our team defines and develops Corrective Action Plans (CAP), tracks milestones, and assists in identifying any material weakness communicated and resolved through Notice of Finding and Recommendation (NFR). From MARSOC’s 11 NFRs, our team has completed four CAPs to enable MARSOC with acheiving their audit and internal control goals.
Taking the lead for the Fiscal Year 2021 Managers Internal Control Program (MICP), Sehlke Consulting’s actions will result in the completed Statement of Assurance (SoA) by May 2021. As part of our process improvement, we continue to refine and update our databases to support the Fund Control Personnel repository and Capital Asset Reporting. During the Managers’ Internal Control Remediation and Reporting (MICRR), our team worked with over 93 Assessable Units (AU) and reviewed 221 Risk Assessments that required processing. Sehlke Consulting looks forward to providing future support to the MARSOC Team and helping them reach their mission and audit goals.
